YOUNGSTERS ENJOY OCTOBER HALF-TERM CAMP

Over 80 youngsters descended on Sandy Park to take part in the latest Exeter Chiefs Rugby Camp organised by the club's Community department.

Run over two days during the recent half-term, children aged between seven and 16 were given their own insight into life at the Aviva Premiership's newest additions.

Receiving quality training tips from coaches Tony Walker, Marc Dibble, Lewis Webb, Tony Yapp, Adam Staniforth, Gary Kingdom and Tony Roques, the campers were put through their paces during a series of drills which could be then used in match scenarios.

Training for the kids included ball, kicking and handling skills; ball presentation; defence; contact work; tackling; scrummaging; rucking and mauling.

Tony Walker, Community Manager of the Exeter Chiefs Community department said: "Again it proved another highly successful camp for all the youngsters that came up to the club. Throughout the two days every child was given expert tuition regarding the basic core skills for the game. They were then able to use those skills in match-like situations."

Exeter Chiefs hope to run a similar camp in the not too distant future, so children and parents are advised to keep a close eye on this website for further information.
